Svendborg Brakes DK has through their Australian distributor
Svendborg Brakes Australia (SBA), recently supplied the brakes to a
Car Positioner through the drive supplier Brevini Australia.
The location of the port expansion is at Cape Lambert some 40 km
north of Dampier in Western Australia port of Robe River. The mine
is located in the Pilbra region of WA.
8 x BSFI 212-30R-100 calipers and a purpose built Australian Power
Unit (APU) were delivered, APU's were designed and manufactured by
SBA's parent company Simon Hydraulics in Perth.
The system is designed to unload 250 cars in around 3 hours. Trains
containing 250 cars (or wagons), each with 100 tons of Iron Ore are
brought in directly from the mines which can be up to 300 to 400Km
west of the Port.
After lhe Locomotives are removed from the train, all wagons are
placed into the Dumper via the Positioner and then tipped. This
procedure is repeated every 90 seconds until al wagons have been
emptied. |
