Double Drum Winder, FFE, South
Africa
A 5.5m Double Drum Rock winder designed and manufactured by FFE
Mineral Vecor South Africa was delivered to a mine in South Africa.
The Double Drum winder, which is bringing platinum up from the
ground, is equipped with 16 x disc brakes from Svendborg Brakes.
The disc brakes are failsafe brakes - spring applied and
hydraulically released, and of the type BSFH 515-S-400. The brakes
were sold through Voith SA, who is the distributor of Svendborg
Brakes products in South Africa. |

Grass Tree Mine, Queensland,
Australia
Coilmech, South Africa, delivered 2 mine winders to the Grass Tree
mine in Australia. Both mine winders, man-riding & production,
have been equipped with four hydraulic disc brakes from Svendborg
Brakes. Each mine winder has 4 x BSFI 515-S-100 fail-safe brakes,
giving a clamping force of 150.000 N each and are used for
emergency braking and parking.. The brakes were supplied to
Coilmech in South Africa through Voith, our distributor in South
Africa. |
